WiZiX Technology Group Acquires California Business Machines
BTA member WiZiX Technology Group Inc. has announced that it has acquired BTA member California Business Machines Inc. (CBM) in Fresno, California, marking its seventh acquisition within the company's first seven years of business. For the current and near future, CBM will continue to be managed by Teri Brymer and operate as an independent wholly owned subsidiary of WiZiX Technology Group Inc.
Like WiZiX, CBM places customer service, support and satisfaction at the utmost importance. With CBM's 71 years of experience serving the Central Valley, it has built a loyal base of customers and a reputation for innovation. These similarities in core beliefs to exceed expectations make for a seamless transition, in which this acquisition serves to continue WiZiX's commitment to the Central Valley region.
"I am extremely excited about the opportunity to partner with Teri Brymer and California Business Machines," said Gary Johnson, president and CEO, WiZiX Technology Group. "My family and I have deep roots in Fresno, which is where I started my career in this industry 40 years ago."
Johnson continued his expression of enthusiasm for the partnership, saying, "I've always had a tremendous amount of respect for CBM as a competitor, the level of service they provide has resulted in an extremely loyal customer base. Combined, WiZiX and CBM represent a significant market share in the office technology space in the Central Valley region. Together, I think we can leverage that advantage and bring a higher level of opportunity to our customers and employees."
Founded in 2017, WiZiX's continued rapid growth has kept them on the map as one of the region's largest independent providers of office technology in the Central and Northern California and Northern Nevada regions. With headquarters in broader Sacramento, California, WiZiX has already been named one of Sacramento's Top 50 Fastest Growing Companies for the current and past year by Sacramento Business Journal.
"CBM is an integral part of me," said Teri Brymer, president, California Business Machines. "Born in Fresno 70 years ago, just after my parents founded California Business Machines, I have been working in the family business since attending Fresno State in the early 1970s. The CBM employees and customers are like family. For these reasons, I sought out another company in the industry that could take my company safely into the future with growth and new products and services while maintaining what we're all about. Gary Johnson's team at WiZiX Technology Group is that company. I am excited for our two teams to merge and grow together. For it is together that we will continue providing central California, northern California and northern Nevada the best there is in office technology products, support and service."
The six prior acquisitions of WiZiX include Stanton Office Machines of Fresno, California; Scott Technology Group of Sacramento, California; Complete Business Systems of Livermore, California; Edward Office Systems of Sacramento; Intelligent Copier Solutions of Rohnert Park, California; and Toshiba America Business Solutions Inc. of Reno, Nevada. Additionally, with its upcoming seventh anniversary in October 2024, WiZiX anticipates kicking off its eighth year in business with the close of the company's eighth acquisition projected for Oct. 1, 2024.
"WiZiX has had an extremely aggressive acquisition strategy over the last seven years, and we will continue this strategy," Johnson said. "But even more importantly, during the same period, WiZiX's organic growth is responsible for more than 60% of our revenue. I am very proud of our team for all the effort they have put forth into achieving this level of success. The future is very bright!"
