Toshiba's Kim Jones Secures Stevie Award for Woman Executive of the Year

Demonstrating leadership within her company and community, Toshiba America Business Solutions Vice President of Human Resources Kim Jones is a finalist in this year's Stevie Awards for Women in Business Competition for Woman Executive of the Year.  She learns if she will become a Gold, Silver or Bronze Stevie Award winner during a gala event on Friday, Nov. 10 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City, New York.

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives, entrepreneurs, employees and the companies they run — worldwide. The Stevie Awards have been hailed as the world’s premier business awards. Finalists were determined by the average scores of more than 200 business professionals around the world, working on six juries.

"In its 20th year, the Stevie Awards for Women in Business received an impressive collection of remarkable nominations," says Maggie Miller, president, the Stevie Awards.  "We congratulate Toshiba's Kim Jones for our award for demonstrating leadership within both her company and community."

Spanning 15 years at Toshiba, Jones is known for championing key personnel initiatives while achieving overarching business objectives. Such accomplishments encompass starting and leading Toshiba’s diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) program to increase opportunities for all company personnel.

By forming a DEI committee, she ensures opinions across the organization are heard. Jones moreover strives to attract more diverse applicants to her company by implementing best practices to advance that objective.

She pursues her passion for bettering her community. This includes advocating a long-term plan to help Orangewood Foundation, a nonprofit in Orange, California, that provides services for foster youth preparing for independent adulthood. The plan enables Toshiba employees the chance to donate their time and treasure to help in meaningful ways.

While away from the office, Jones continues immersing herself within her community. Beyond volunteering as a trustee and on the Tech Team of her church, she has been actively involved with nonprofit community theaters in Southern California.

"Kim is our company's guiding force for enabling employee improvement, empowerment and opportunities," said Jason White, chief administrative officer, Toshiba America Business Solutions. "And through extensive work helping charitable organizations and causes, she also represents Toshiba's face within our community."
