PFU America Introduces ScanSnap iX2500 Receipt Edition
PFU America Inc. has unveiled the ScanSnap iX2500 Receipt Edition, a powerful new document imaging scanner designed specifically for small business owners, tax professionals and those who handle a high volume of receipts and invoices. Based on the acclaimed ScanSnap iX2500, the Receipt Edition adds built-in support for QuickBooks Online/Desktop and intuitive invoice scanning profiles. With one-touch simplicity and enterprise-grade imaging technology, this smart scanner helps users stay organized and efficient, especially during tax season.
The iX2500 Receipt Edition integrates the same exceptional capabilities and benefits of the original ScanSnap while adding features optimized for receipt- and invoice-heavy workflows. Key benefits and attributes include:
- QuickBooks Online/Desktop Integration: Send scanned receipts and invoices directly to QuickBooks with a few easy steps.
- Automatic Invoice OCR for More Efficient Processing: In addition to the advanced OCR capabilities of standard ScanSnap models, automatic OCR for invoices is supported. Information, including invoice numbers and payment due dates, is automatically recognized and saved. Output in CSV format is also available.
- Attached Receipt Guide: The new model comes equipped with an easily attachable/detachable Receipt Guide. Scanning small receipts that tend to curl and skew is stress-free, and receipts up to 3,000mm long can now be scanned.
- High-Speed Scanning: The iX2500 Receipt Edition benefits from the next-generation "iiGA" System on a Chip (SoC), which was first introduced with the standard ScanSnap iX2500 in June 2025, offering even faster performance than the previous model. Full duplex scanning operates at 45 pages per minute (ppm) and can hold up to 100 A4 sheets at a time. Even when the Receipt Guide is attached, up to 50 A4 sheets can be loaded.
- Software Integration for Comprehensive Document Management: ScanSnap Home is a comprehensive document management software designed specifically for ScanSnap scanners and can accommodate any scanning environment. Users can easily manage, edit and utilize scans, including creating profile icons to preset save-to destinations, cloud services, color settings and file type (including PDF, searchable PDF and JPEG file formats).
- Smart Touch Screen Control: The highly responsive 5-inch touch screen, which includes a QuickBooks icon for seamless integration with QuickBooks, allows users to easily create, select and switch between custom scanning profiles. Visual icons and personalized settings streamline operation, making it easy for multiple users to share one device effortlessly.
- Stable Paper Feeding: Brake roller technology, an ultrasonic multifeed sensor and skew detection function ensure hassle-free operation, protecting important documents.
- Robust Connectivity with Enhanced Security: The scanner offers advanced Wi-Fi support (2.4GHz and 5GHz, Wi-Fi 6), mobile device compatibility and industry-standard encryption protocols (WPA3, TLS 1.3) for secure and flexible operation.
- Quick Setup: Start scanning in minutes, right out of the box by connecting wirelessly via Wi-Fi or USB from smartphones, PCs or tablets.
- Eco-Conscious Design: More than 25% of the scanner body is made from recycled plastic. Packaging materials exclude fossil-fuel-derived plastics.
"The iX2500 Receipt Edition goes beyond traditional scanning," said Satoshi Kubo, president and CEO, PFU America Inc. "By combining speed, accuracy and seamless integration with QuickBooks Online/Desktop, it becomes an essential tool for small business owners and financial professionals aiming to optimize their daily workflows. iX2500 Receipt Edition is more than a scanner — it's a productivity partner."

In other news, Ricoh has announced it has once again been named one of the 2026 Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations — marking the 14th time the company has received this recognition.
In the 2026 Global 100 assessment, Ricoh achieved the following rankings:
- 87th in overall ranking
- 19th among 1,043 companies in the Information Technology Sector
- Third within the Computers and Peripherals Manufacturing Peer Group
The Global 100 is an annual ranking published by Corporate Knights Inc. Based on publicly disclosed data from 8,231 companies with annual revenues of more than $1 billion, the ranking evaluates companies using three equally weighted performance indicators — sustainable revenue, sustainable investment and sustainable revenue growth — with additional adjustments for penalties and executive compensation linked to sustainability performance. Results are announced during the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland.
"The Ricoh Group is advancing its sustainability initiatives by aligning ESG with business growth," said Mikako Suzuki, corporate officer in charge of ESG and risk management, Ricoh Co. Ltd. "We are honored to be recognized once again as a Global 100 company. This recognition reflects high evaluations of our continued efforts to expand sales of sustainable products and services, as well as investments in sustainability, including upgrades to energy-efficient facilities. Looking ahead, we will continue to work with our stakeholders to accelerate efforts toward realizing a sustainable society through business activities."
Ricoh's approach to sustainability is to pursue a sustainable society through a Three Ps Balance — Prosperity (economic), People (society) and Planet (environment). To realize this vision, Ricoh has identified seven material issues in two focus areas — "Resolving social issues through business" and "Robust management infrastructure" — and has set 16 ESG targets linked to these issues. In 2020, Ricoh positioned ESG initiatives as future financial targets — one of the dual companywide management targets along with regular financial goals. Since then, ESG indicators have been incorporated into Ricoh's executive compensation.
