Novatech Announces Retirement of John Eckstrom, Former CEO of Carolina Business Equipment

BTA member Novatech has announced the retirement of John Eckstrom, the former owner and CEO of Carolina Business Equipment (CBE). Eckstrom, who played a pivotal role in building CBE over the past 30 years and guiding it through its successful acquisition by Novatech last year, will retire on Dec. 31, 2024.

His journey with CBE has been marked by three decades of dedication, growth and leadership. Joining CBE in 1994, Eckstrom led the organization to become a well-regarded technology solutions provider throughout the Southeast. Since the acquisition by Novatech, he has continued to support CBE's integration into Novatech's culture while also helping to ensure a seamless transition for employees and clients.

"It's a bittersweet moment for me, but it feels like the right time to move forward," Eckstrom said. "I am profoundly grateful for the opportunity to lead CBE, and I couldn't be prouder of the team and the success we've achieved together. This next chapter allows me to spend more time with my granddaughters and pursue personal interests, including a new venture on my hunting property. I leave knowing CBE is in great hands under Novatech's leadership."

Dan Cooper, CEO of Novatech, expressed appreciation for Eckstrom's contributions.

"John's dedication to CBE and his unwavering commitment to excellence have left an indelible mark on the company and on all those who had the pleasure of working with him," Cooper said. "We are grateful for the strong foundation he helped build, and we wish him all the best as he enters retirement."
