Koji Miyao Named President of Ricoh Graphic Communications Business Unit

Koji Miyao has been named the new president of the Ricoh Graphic Communications (RGC) Business Unit at Ricoh Co. Ltd. He succeeded Sergio Kato on Jan. 1, 2023.

Miyao has enjoyed many pivotal roles during his 22 years with Ricoh, most recently as general manager of the Business Management Division, RGC.

He joined Ricoh Co. Ltd. in 2000, where he was responsible for marketing high-speed color laser printers for overseas markets. Six years later, Miyao joined Ricoh Americas Corp. as director of  business development, where he headed up strategic investment for printer sales through IT distribution channels. Later, Miyao assumed a senior manager role as marketing director, where he was responsible for new business development and commercialization of mobile, cloud printing and medical printing devices.

After returning to Japan in 2014 as general manager of the Office Printing Division, Miyao oversaw the office printing, maintenance and supply business strategy.

In 2018 he was appointed chairman and president of Ricoh China, after which the company enjoyed three consecutive years of its highest profits.

"As part of my role, I will also align Ricoh's global development, production, sales and service functions for the success of our customers' business," he continued. I aim to achieve this while expanding the reach of print and the scope of our business while positively contributing to solving social issues."
