Knight Office Named a Top Workplace for 13th Year
BTA member Knight Office has been named a San Antonio Express-News Top Workplace for the thirteenth consecutive year.
"Our employees embrace our culture and they defend it, which makes it theirs," said John Cheney, co-owner, Knight Office.
The award rests on confidential employee feedback. Energage used 26 survey questions, and 119 San Antonio, Texas-area employers earned recognition in 2026.
Knight Office puts one of its 21 Culture Keys on each week's department meeting agenda. Employees receive a pamphlet and workbook; peers and managers recognize people who put the principles into practice. Culture Key #2 is "Champion Customers, Colleagues and Company," a point both owners returned to.
Co-President Mitch Huffman wrote that employees are encouraged to "regularly share ideas that champion our customers, colleagues and company." He described all-company meetings as another part of that exchange, sharing company news and recognizing employees and departments.
For Huffman, the 13-year streak reflects sustained work to honor employees and help them build careers. He connected legendary service to customer organizations' success as they navigate rapid technology change. Cheney followed that broad idea with praise for Paul Bernal, an employee: professional, ready to assist and "a pleasure to be around."
