Epson Announces New Ultra Compact Desktop Solutions

Epson has announced three new compact and lightweight document scanning solutions — the WorkForce ES-C220, ES-C320W and ES-C380W. Featuring an intuitive design and exceptional flexibility, these modern scanners boast a new footprint that saves 60% of desk space, ideal for tight spaces. Designed for fast and easy document management, the ES-C320W and ES-C380W offer comprehensive wireless scanning to smartphones, tablets, computers and the cloud, enabling small business owners, hybrid employees and busy professionals to work efficiently and streamline tasks.

"With the work environment shifting to a hybrid and remote workforce, compact and lightweight solutions that easily integrate into home offices and tight workspaces are essential for today's workflow needs," said Carrie Fox, director of product marketing, Scanners, Epson America. "Professionals and consumers alike can easily conquer clutter and reclaim office space with the new compact WorkForce scanners, designed for productivity and peace of mind. These unique and flexible solutions offer single-step scanning, organizing software and a vertical paper path to help customers accomplish more and streamline active workdays."

These high-performance workhorse scanners offer features to keep home offices and business organized. The ultra-compact solutions deliver fast speeds with an innovative, space-saving design and vertical scan path that saves 60% of desk space, making it easy to place virtually anywhere, even when space is limited. With two-sided scanning and a 20-sheet auto document feeder, the new scanners can efficiently handle stacks of paper in one fast pass at speeds up to 30 pages per minute (ppm)/60 images per minute (ipm). Intelligent image adjustments such as automatic cropping and paper skew correction help ensure amazing image quality with each scan. The flexible scan path provides remarkable versatility and the ability to scan most document types, from standard paper to invoices, greeting cards, business cards and passports.

Touting robust software, all three scanners include Epson ScanSmart Software allowing users to preview, email and upload scans, as well as save valuable time with automatic file name suggestion for streamlined file management and OCR. To enhance workflow efficiency, the WorkForce ES-C380W includes ScanWay for scanning directly to a USB drive, mobile device or upload to popular cloud storage services Dropbox, Evernote, Google Drive and OneDrive using the scanner's bright, 2.4-inch LCD touch screen, no computer needed.

The Epson WorkForce ES-C220 (MSRP $249.99), and WorkForce ES-C320W (MSRP $299.99) are now available through major online computer, office and electronic superstores. The WorkForce ES-C380W (MSRP $369.99) will be available at select retailers this fall.

In other news, Epson's Jeny Fajardo, senior manager of distribution, has been named one of the winners of this year's Women in Supply Chain Award. The award honors female supply chain leaders and executives whose accomplishments, mentorship and examples set a foundation for women in all levels of a company's supply chain network.

"Jeny is a true talent in the world of supply chain operations and a great asset to Epson — a fearless, selfless and customer-centric leader," said Mauricio Villaveces, vice president distribution operations, Epson America Inc. "Jeny boasts an impressive track record in her career and her unwavering commitment in preparing her team, ensuring their readiness for elevated roles and adapting seamlessly to evolving customer needs."

Fajardo is a leader and influential figure in the supply chain industry. Her innovative strategies and dedication to inclusivity at Epson have impacted its supply chain management. With a strong commitment to mentorship and empowerment, Fajardo inspires other women to excel and lead in various roles across the supply chain spectrum and her legacy serves as a testament to the power of determination and forward-thinking leadership.

The award is presented by the publications Food Logistics and Supply & Demand Chain Executive. While the supply chain industry is excelling at incorporating more women in the supply chain, gender diversity continues to be top of mind for many of today's supply chains. The Women in Supply Chain award was introduced four years ago to honor the female supply chain leaders and executives who stand out in their field.

"Receiving more than 400 submissions, this year marked the highest number of applications not only for this award, but for all of our awards," says Marina Mayer, editor in chief, Food Logistics and Supply & Demand Chain Executive. "What's more, 118 of those applications were submitted by male counterparts, nominating their boss, co-worker or associate. While there's still more work to be done, what we're doing is working. From truck drivers to CEOs, what these winners are doing matters to the future of all supply chains."

"Women have been making a significant impact in supply chain management, contributing to the growth and innovation of the supply chain industry," said Sarah Barnes-Humphrey, founder of the Let's Talk Supply Chain podcast and Blended Pledge project, both exclusive sponsors of the Women in Supply Chain award. "As more women join the supply chain workforce, they bring diverse perspectives that can help address complex supply chain problems and improve global supply chain operations. It is important that we empower, recognize and elevate these achievements through initiatives like the Women in Supply Chain Award, as seen through the overwhelming response. Congratulations to all the winners, those who nominated others and the bravery of those who nominated themselves."

We integrate features designed for versatility and reliability to ensure customers have high-quality, sellable output and an efficient workflow to drive success."

Open to all PRINTING United Alliance supplier members, the Pinnacle Product Award competition evaluates products that will be available for sale in 2023. A panel of judges across the printing industry evaluated the annual contest's 160-plus entries in more than 58 categories spanning analog, digital, output and non-output technologies. Output devices are judged based on reports generated by measuring color charts and then comparing them to industry specifications.

"This is the only competition I know of that reports on the percentage of Adobe RGB a printer can hit," said Dawn Nye, program manager for the Pinnacle Awards, PRINTING United Alliance. "Some categories were decided by tenths of a point, so fierce was the competition this year."
