DEX Imaging Acquires New England Copy Specialists

BTA member DEX Imaging has announced it has acquired BTA member New England Copy Specialists (NECS), a Canon, Konica Minolta and HP dealership serving the New England market since 1965. The deal marks DEX's fourth acquisition of the year and its latest push into the Northeast.

NECS was founded by Charles Tiernan on the idea of pairing top-tier office technology with standout service, and has grown into what the company describes as the largest and longest-established privately owned office technology dealership in New England. With more than 135 employees across seven locations — including Woburn, Boston, Canton and Springfield, Massachusetts — NECS built its reputation on factory-certified technicians averaging 15-plus years of tenure, an A+ Better Business Bureau rating dating back to 1988, and staff retention that includes numerous employees with 30-plus years at the company.

NECS' portfolio spans Canon and HP MFPs, production and wide-format printers, and scanners, along with Katun-supplied copier/MFPs, software solutions including PaperCut and uniFlow, and ink and toner supplies. NECS has also emphasized environmental responsibility through a cost-effective recycling initiative and longstanding community involvement across its service territories.

DEX Imaging is a top independent U.S. provider of office technology, serving thousands of small businesses and large enterprises — including Fortune 1,000 companies — through a nationwide network of specialists. The company emphasizes rigorous, reliability-tested equipment selection, in-house R&D, and a strong environmental and community focus, and is widely regarded as one of the largest independent dealers in the country.
