BTA's Fall Colors Retreat to be Held Oct. 29-30 in Asheville, North Carolina

The Business Technology Association (BTA) will hold its final event of 2026, the Fall Colors Retreat, Oct. 29-30 at the Omni Grove Park Inn in Asheville, North Carolina. Open to office technology dealers from across the country, the event will feature:

  • A keynote address by Samuel Mascato of Peak Performance Partners
  • Two additional educational sessions on selling water and ice for high profits, and current industry metrics and best practices for your service department
  • Two breakout sessions focused on what a successful MSP looks like, and how to start selling water and ice
  • Round-table discussions that will give attendees time to learn more about the exhibitors' offerings in-depth
  • Time to network with fellow dealers and exhibitors during breaks
  • Cocktails and a sunset dinner at the Mountain View Terrace, which offers scenic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains

The Fall Colors Retreat will begin at 10:15 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29, with opening comments and the keynote address, "Your Goals Aren't the Problem — Your Comfort Zone Is," presented by Mascato. He will challenge leaders to rethink how they set expectations, hold accountability and push performance. Attendees will walk away with a clear, practical way to set goals that actually change behavior and produce results. After the keynote, a break will be held, giving attendees time to visit with the exhibiting sponsors and their peers.

Lunch will be held after the break, followed by the breakout sessions: "What Does a Successful MSP Look Like?" presented by Eric Kehmeier of The 20 MSP, and "How to Get Started in Water & Ice," presented by Paul Martin of Culligan Quench. After the breakouts, another break will be held, followed by the first set of exhibitor round-table discussions.

After the round tables, Martin will present the second educational session, "Beyond Office Equipment: Water & Ice for High Profits." In this session, attendees will discover how office technology dealers can expand beyond traditional print and copier/MFP solutions by adding water and ice to their portfolios. They will learn what it takes to become a water dealer, and how to successfully launch and grow this new revenue stream. After the session, attendees will wrap up the day with cocktails and dinner on the Mountain View Terrace, which offers scenic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The second day of the retreat will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 30, with breakfast, followed by opening comments and the second set of exhibitor round-table discussions. After the round tables, Jerry Newberry and Jeff Kelly of Pros Elite Group will present the final educational session: "Current Industry Metrics & Best Practices in Service," which will cover the changes to the industry benchmarking model in service. They will discuss how the benchmarks have evolved and the common performance challenges they have identified. They will also share how they address those challenges, and the strategies they use to help dealers improve service performance and move toward above-benchmark results. After the session, the event will wrap up with closing comments and exhibitor prize drawings from 11:45 a.m. to noon.

The exhibiting sponsors: Brother, ECI, eGoldFax (lunch sponsor), ELATEC, Epson, Fujifilm, IBPI, Kyocera, Intermedia, MPS Monitor, Noetics, SalesChain, Sharp (reception sponsor), Source Technologies, Static Control, TD SYNNEX, Toshiba, Xerox and Zultys (breakfast sponsor).
